AXMINSTER: New town website

Thursday, 06 March 2014

Axminster Chamber of Commerce has launched a new website - - described as “an engaging social experience”.
Chamber of commerce chairman Lisa Lyman said: “Visitors to the new website will experience easy access to essential information about Axminster, its history and heritage, plus travel and tourism opportunities.
“It will also feature news and events from the area along with information on the chamber - including the features and benefits of membership.
“Local organisations and businesses will also have the opportunity to enter their details on a free business/organization directory.
“The website has a modern, simple and stylish layout incorporating the latest social media feeds.
“It will help promote Axminster, its businesses and attractions whilst creating an engaging social experience
“The chamber believes that every business and organization, however large or small, deserves to have an up-to-date internet presence that attracts new clients and new businesses and promotes brand and business awareness.”
The website has been developed by Axminster-based designers DW Internet, and was partly paid for with a £500 Business Information Point grant.
Chamber technology leader and DW Internet web designer Anna D’Silva-Williams said “The Axminster Directory is a business and organisation directory for locals and visitors alike.
“It will enable us all to discover the best of what we have right here amongst us, and it is growing every day as more and more people find out about it.”
Ms Lyman added: “The grant does not cover the cost of the website, so we are extremely grateful to DW Internet for not only building such an impressive website, but also for providing this at well below the market price.
“Anna’s expertise has proved invaluable in bringing the chamber into the 21st century from a technology point of view.”
