AXMINSTER: Daylight sexual assault

Thursday, 12 December 2013

Police are seeking a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in broad daylight in Axminster.
The incident happened at about 3.30pm and 3.45pm on Wednesday December 4th in Belle Vue, off West Street.
The man is described as white, around 5ft 11inches tall with short dark straight hair. At the time he was wearing a dark blue tracksuit/puffer top and dark blue jeans or trousers.
PC Simon Rodgers said: "A lone female was assaulted by an unknown male whilst she was walking through Belle Vue towards the town centre.
"The suspect was last seen running off in the direction of West Street. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please can contact police on 101, quoting crime reference KA/13/653.
"Police are especially interested in hearing from the couple who helped the victim after the incident and would appreciate if all local businesses check their CCTV systems to see if a male matching this description entered their premises between 3pm and 4pm - and to contact police with any positive or negative replies."
