AXMINSTER : Catch Jack Russell at the cricket club fete
Thursday, 03 July 2014
You may not be surprised to see Jack Russell at Axminster Town Cricket Club’s summer fete at Cloakham Lawn on Sunday July 6th. But it won’t be the famous England and Gloucestershire wicket-keeper. Instead it is likely to be local Jack Russell terriers hoping to win a rosette and a Bonio. This is because fete organisers have decided to include a novelty dog show this year. The classes will be rather different to normal dog shows and will include the following: Most Handsome Dog, Prettiest Bitch, Waggiest Tail, Best Rescue Dog, Owner Who Looks Like Their Dog, Most Appealing Eyes, Fastest Bonio Eater, Best Six Legs (dog and handler), Best Trick, Musical Chairs. The summer fete starts at 2pm and will also feature Karizma Majorettes, the Lions Club soft-toy stall, a bouncy castle and a number of side shows. Entry to the grounds is free of charge, but dog owners will pay £1 per entry in each class. There will be four rosettes in each class and Bonios galore (kindly sponsored by MoleAvon). The Novelty Dog Show will start at 2.30pm Cricket club member Andrew Moulding said: “Join the fun at Cloakham Lawn and look out for Jack Russell.
