OTTERY: Garden staff hit fundraising total
Tuesday, 22 April 2014
Staff and customers at Otter Nurseries have raffled, eaten, cycled, pampered, cooked, parked, knitted and raced to raise £14,627.67 for Macmillan Cancer Support in one year. Macmillan Cancer Support fundraising manager Bridget Hill said: “We are delighted that Otter Nurseries have managed to raise more in this year than ever before. “The number of people living with or beyond cancer in Devon and Cornwall has risen by 92 per cent in a generation, so the challenge to provide support is growing. “We need funds like this to make sure that no one faces cancer alone.” Otter Nurseries marketing manager Sabine Taylor added: “We started with a target of £10,000 and with the help of our customers and our staff we smashed it “The support we have had from Macmillan has been great and we have had loads of fun raising the money. “Fundraising for charities is a very important part of our culture at Otter Nurseries and we are just delighted to be able to make a real difference.” Any business interested in finding out more about working with Macmillan Cancer Support should contact Bridget by phoning 07801 307003.
