HONITON: Changes to Royal Mail deliveries

Royal Mail has announced changes to its delivery service in Honiton, which could affect the time customers receive their mail.
Postmen and women delivering in the EX14 postcode area will follow revised delivery routes, with changes introduced on a phased basis.
Royal Mail will continue to deliver in the morning and for a longer period during the day. But the time customers receive their mail will depend on where they live on the new route, which may be later or earlier than current delivery times.
Delivery arrangements and times are also subject to change when mail volumes vary.
A spokesperson for Royal Mail said: “The way in which we communicate with each other has changed dramatically. Unfortunately, fewer letters are now posted every day and Royal Mail needs to organise its delivery routes to be as efficient as possible.
“We also deliver more larger items and so we are investing in new equipment to carry these items to customers even more securely. The new equipment also reduces the risk of injury to our postmen and women carrying heavier mail bags.
“These changes will require a period of adjustment for staff. However, Royal Mail will be doing everything possible to maintain a high level of service and thanks customers for their understanding.”
Royal Mail will be writing to all addresses in Honiton about the changes. Customers who have any queries after they receive a letter should contact the Royal Mail Customer Services Team on 08456 011399.
