SEATON: Old Beer Road parking restrictions discussed at Devon County Council

Friday, 21 February 2014

SEATON Town Council was represented by Councillor John Meakin at a county council meeting to discuss new double yellow line parking restrictions on Old Beer Road.
County councillor Jim Knight was also present, as were 14 members of the public.
At last week’s full meeting of Seaton Town Council, town clerk Christopher Drake reported that county officers had explained that the consultation period for a new traffic regulation order had expired, but due to the public notices not being visible they were prepared to allow late submission.
Mr Drake’s report continued: “The outcome of the meeting was that the land east of the snack bar area would remain as proposed with the addition of a larger ‘no through road’ sign.
“To the west of the snack bar, the proposals are to be withdrawn in their entirety and the grassed turning triangle will be removed and replaced with a hard surface.”
