AXMINSTER: Foodbank will be closed over Christmas period
Thursday, 12 December 2013
Canned Sunshine Foodbank in Axminster has asked potential customers to make sure they make arrangements in time for Christmas and New Year.
The foodbank, which is run by Axminster Health and Wellbeing Centre, will be be open up to and including December 20th, but will then shut until it reopens on January 6th.
Centre manager Aynsley Jones said: "If you think you may be in need of a food box around this time, please come and speak to us soon so we can make arrangements. The foodbank offers emergency and referral food boxes to local people in need.”
Mr Jones added: “As Christmas approaches and the weather gets colder more people are in need of support, which is why we are releasing this short appeal for donations.
"The collection points are at Axminster Health and Wellbeing Centre and the main Co-op.
"As well as the staples we are asking for Christmas puddings, mince pies, Christmas crackers, small stocking fillers, chocolate money and advent calenders as well as any other festive gifts.
"Two for one offers are a great way to be able to make a donation without blowing your budget, keep one for yourself and donate the other. All donations will be gratefully received."
