AXMINSTER: Parents test school food
Thursday, 17 October 2013
n About 15 parents accepted an offer to test the food served in Axminster Primary School’s canteen.
School catering manager Emma Williams explained that about 50 per cent of pupils eat lunch in the canteen, and added: “We’d like to get it up a bit.
“This is to give them [parents] a taste of our lovely meals.
“School meals have changed quite a bit since they were children.
“Sometimes they need a taster to decide if they want it for their children.”
Those who accepted the offer on Wednesday October 2nd were served a roast dinner with plenty of greens.
Katy Letten was one of them. She said before tucking in: “It looks nice. It was a long time since I had a school dinner.”
