HONITON: New councillor vows to serve town well
Friday, 24 January 2014
Honiton’s new town councillor Caroline Kolek has said she is ‘delighted’ with her new role and has vowed to serve the town well.
Mrs Kolek was co-opted onto the town council at the full council meeting on Monday, January 13th after the other two candidates withdrew their applications.
She said: “I am delighted to have been co-opted onto Honiton Town Council and may I serve it well. I hope to bring all sorts of experience and expertise to the role.”
Mrs Kolek has lived in the area for more than 20 years, and in the centre of Honiton since 2006.
Her four children attended Honiton Community College and she has herself worked as a teacher and served as a school governor.
An active campaigner for affordable housing and improved access to health and social care, Mrs Kolek is also the Labour Party’s Parliamentary spokesperson for the Tiverton and Honiton constituency.
