AXMINSTER: Tool firm raises £5,000 for hospice

Axminster Tools & Machinery’s Aspire Mega Prize Draw raised £1,150 for Children’s Hospice South West.
The other winner was Tina Potts from Kilmington, who won the top prize package consisting of tools, technology, rugby and football tickets worth £2,000 plus.
Members of the company’s Aspire team were inspired by Channel 5’s The Gadget Show and decided to create their own mega prize draw - a raffle consisting of donated prizes worth more than £2,000.
The draw was held in December last year just before Christmas.
The Aspire group sold more than 600 tickets, taking its total Children’s Hospice South West fundraising to £5,195 for .
Aspire is a learning and development programme launched by Axminster Tools & Machinery last year.
It aims to harness the skills of nine individuals by working on group and individual projects, along with gaining support from a mentor within the company and an outside business coach.
Projects give team members a practical taste of anything from leadership and motivation to financial management and organisational flair.
