Members of the Sidmouth Flower Arrangement Club attracted the crowds at their annual flower show at All Saints Hall in Sidmouth this week. The theme of this year’s show was ‘Floral Delights’, which showcased the flower-arranging skills of their members. There were 21 entries in the 10 classes, which were all judged by Judith Taylor from the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies. This year’s trophy winners were: Diane Emms, for the Best Exhibit in Show, Christine Bull, winner of the Novice Class, Marilyn Hopkin, for the Best use of Colour, Jane Brittain, winner of the Petite Class and Judge’s Choice, Sandra Church won the President’s Choice and Margaret Newman was the winner of the Miniature Class. Club President Pearl Dean said: “It was a very, very good show this year with the standards still being consistently high and the judge thought all the entrants were very good. “We are still looking for new members and welcome anyone who would like to join us.” As well as the displays, there was also a tombola – with prizes being donated from over 20 local businesses – and refreshments with all proceeds going towards Sid Valley Memory Café.
