THIS year’s Natural Seaton Festival has ‘Fossil Fun for Kids’, a ‘Jurassic CSI’ and amazing Land Rover trips to Goat Island and the Chasm on offer. The event takes place on Saturday, July 19th, from 10am-4pm at Thury Harcourt Square, next to the Seaton Tramway Terminal. The popular day features an exciting array of events and activities about the natural world in Seaton and the surrounding area for people of all ages. Organisers Seaton Visitor Centre Trust have a host of activities to choose from, which also include driftwood making demo, a fascinating talk which uncovers the mysteries of the disappearance of dinosaurs, and an open canoe/kayak starter session from Axe Valley Canoe Club. Pre-booking is essential for the Land Rover trips to journey to Goat Island and the Chasm. Tickets at £10 per person are available from Seaton Tourist Information Centre (01297 21660) or Osbourne’s, Fore Street. There will also be stalls from many wildlife and nature organisations such as Devon Wildlife Trust, RSPB, Axe Vale & District Conservation Society, Axe Wetlands Team, the Marine Conservation Society, Natural England, Axe Estuary Ringing Group, Marine Conservation Society, Plymouth University, the Conservation Volunteers and Pebblebeds Heath Conservation Trust. There will also be live music, tombola and a BBQ.
