EAST DEVON:Entrepreneurs at Hawkchurch Primary
Thursday, 03 July 2014
CHILDREN from Hawkchurch Primary School have become budding entrepreneurs with a summer challenge set by their class teacher. In small groups or as individuals, the children have been allowed to borrow their business start up money (a maximum of £10) from the Bank of Miss English. The excitement and activity has been building for two weeks, as handmade brackets, homemade crafts and cake making have gone into production, as well as practising for a music concert. Of course, with any business marketing is required and the school is now awash with posters and ticket sellers. So far parents and children have been invited to part with their money at a cake stall and a raffle. Next week they are invited to drop by to have their cars washed or buy a bacon sandwich on Wednesday, July 2nd from 2pmm or have their pets washed on Thursday, July 3rd. In order to really encourage the entrepreneurs the children are being allowed to keep the profit they make.
