SEATON: Have your say on playground

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

Seaton Town Council want to hear from Seaton children and young people about what they want on the soon to be improved Underfleet Play area. Seaton Town Council, working with East Devon District Council, have £140,000 Section106 money available to re-design the park, and are keen to see play for all ages, using natural materials. It is hoped that the play area will be in keeping with the new Jurassic Centre. The money is the result of developer contributions including replacement youth facilities from the Tesco development. The first part of the consultation is taking place at Seaton Primary School Summer Fete on June 28th from 11am. Seaton town councillors will have a display and want to know what type of equipment young people, their parents and carers want. Following this first consultation designers will get to work on drawing up designs for the park. Mayor Councillor Gaynor Sedgwick said: “The Underfleet play area is well used and popular but looking rather tired. “I am really pleased that after many years Seaton Town Council – working with EDDC – are going to enhance the park and provide exciting new equipment for all ages. “I would encourage young people to come along to the consultation and have their say.”
