AXMINSTER: Road closed after tractor crash

A stretch of the A35 at Shute, near Axminster, had to be closed after a collision between an articulated lorry and a tractor with a forage harvester. The accident happened at about 4.30pm on Thursday, June 5th. A spokesperson for the fire and rescue service said: “The fuel tank of the lorry had ruptured, causing a fuel spillage. “Crews assisted with scene safety and clearing the fuel spillage, and the ambulance service dealt with a casualty.” An ambulance service spokesperson said that one man was treated for “minor leg injuries” at the scene. He did not require hospital treatment. The road was fully reopened at 10.15pm.

Paramedics were called to Chard Road in Axminster to an accident involving a man and a dog. An ambulance was despatched at 10.45am on Tuesday, June 10th. An ambulance service spokesperson said it appeared that a man had been pulled over by his dog and dislocated his knee in the process. The man was taken to hospital in Exeter for treatmen.
