AXMINSTER: Breakfast raises £1,200 for farming charity

Tuesday, 17 June 2014

MEMBERS of Axminster Young Farmers' Club have presented the takings from their Big Breakfast in March to The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI). The cheque came to £1,238.53, and member Alice Gay said: "We had a very interesting talk from Pam Mills, who is the area supervisor for RABI. "The money has been put into a pot specifically for people on the Somerset Levels following the severe flooding during last winter. "They have helped the farmers in a number of ways ensuring everyone has food and water as well as the animals getting the feed they need and having shelter." The club ball will be held on Friday, June 27th at Axminster Showground. Tickets are £22 and include a hog roast, drink and desert. Entertainment will be provided by The Reason and Your Perfect Night Disco. To order tickets, contact Laura Lee on 07714707687.
