AXMINSTER: Where’s Wally day another success for school PTFA
Tuesday, 17 June 2014
Archway Bookshop and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School PTFA filled Axminster with Wally characters on Saturday, June 7th. One of the organisers, Jo Hawkins, was pleased with the success of the event, saying: “Despite the weather forecast people still turned out in force with over 70 families participating on the day. “St Mary’s Catholic Primary School PTFA raised over £200 for the school from the event. “We had great support from local businesses, with many donating prizes including The Sweet Shop, Route 66, Axe Music and the Light Gallery. “Sublyme made sure that the Wallies next to their café were kept refreshed with free drinks. “Wally was hiding in the library, Archway Bookshop, Route66 Express and next to the cow statue at Sublyme. “Children were given clues on the day to find them and had been looking for objects Wally had dropped in shop windows all week.” The day was concluded with a prize draw and awards ceremony on The Minster Green, attended by the Deputy Mayor, Devon Alderman Douglas Hull.
