SEATON: Morris dancers scare dog
Thursday, 05 June 2014
THE Great Western Morris group from Exeter wish to apologise to the woman who lost her dog in the woods between Seaton and Beer on the afternoon of Sunday, May 25th More than 80 Morris dancers were processing down the hill through the woods, when the lady’s dog was suddenly spooked by all the noise of the bells and music and ran off. The dog was later spotted by one of the dancers; the owner was informed and she duly recovered her dog. All were relieved that it had suffered no harm. Great Western were very pleased to see the owner and dog reunited. A spokesman from Great Western Morris reassured local residents and dog owners that, in future, there will be warning notices put up to be aware of loose Morris dancers travelling on paths through the woods, and to keep all pets on a lead to ensure no mishaps. Once again Great Western Morris apologise to the owner for any upset and stress caused by this incident. Further information about the Morris group can be found at www.great-western.org.uk
