SEATON: Work begins on new homes

Thursday, 05 June 2014

A developer has fenced off an area around Harbour Road to start construction of more than 200 homes. Bovis Homes will build 222 homes on the site and its South West technical director, Malcolm Gilmore, said: “Preparatory works are set to begin. The safety of the public is always our primary focus at such stages in our projects, and we would ask all people in the area, especially children, to pay careful attention to the signage around the site. “Building sites can be dangerous places if the proper behaviours aren’t followed, and certainly aren’t playgrounds, so we would greatly appreciate the co-operation of everyone who may be in the vicinity of the site during this pre-construction phase.” The new development will feature a mix of homes, from two-bed apartments to four-bed family houses. A Bovis spokesperson added: “As well as the new homes, Bovis Homes will be investing more than £450,000 into local facilities in Seaton as part of the planning agreement to boost sport, transport, art and education in the town.”
