SEATON: Skydive marks anniversary of Titanic survivor’s death
Wednesday, 21 May 2014
Two Seaton sisters will celebrate their birthdays and mark the anniversary of the death of a famous relative by raising money for charity through skydiving. Christina Squire and Laura Squire will join Crewkerne siblings Christopher Davis and Becky Davis at Dunkeswell on May 31st for a sponsored skydive in aid of Cancer Research UK. Together they have a fundraising target of £2,100. In a joint statement the four said: “We will be completing a charity skydive to celebrate Christina’s 21st birthday on May 31st as well as Laura’s 18th birthday later in the year. “May 31st is not only Christina’s 21st birthday, but also the five year anniversary of the death of Millvina Dean. “Millvina was Christina’s great aunt who was also the last and youngest survivor of the Titanic disaster. "Millvina was born in Branscombe and spent a lot of time within the county visiting family and friends. “We decided in January to make this a charity event in to raise money for Cancer Research UK as every person within the group has had an experience with family members and friends battling this terrible disease.” More information is available online at www.justgiving.com/teams/Squire-Davis
