HONITON: Town council hands out £14k in grants to local organisations

Around £14,000 has been dished out to community groups in Honiton, following the approval of grant applications for funding support. Honiton Town Council will hand over a total of £5,303 to applicants, as well as a further £8,650 in continued funding for facilities such as the Tourist Information Centre and Citizens Advice Bureau, bringing the total spend to £13,953. The funding includes support for the town’s traditional Hot Pennies and Charter Day celebrations, as well as £1,000 to provide Christmas lights in December. Grants were also awarded to community groups including: £500 for Honiton Antiques Festival; £120 for Honiton Youth Orchestra; £500 for Honiton Millennium Green Trust; £125 for Honiton Music Company; £1,000 for Honiton and District Hospice Support Group £360 for Honiton Netball Club; £140 for the Friends of the Glen revival working group; £450 for the 1st Honiton Brownies; £258 for the Reel Moments cinema group; £400 for the TRIP community transport scheme; £300 for Honiton Community Church; £750 for Honiton Family Church; £100 for Otter Rotters; and, £300 for Honiton Senior Voice.
