Countrywide Farmers in Honiton raised £206.47 for horse welfare charity The Mare and Foal Sanctuary through a raffle during an equine weekend from April 4th-6th. Based in Newton Abbot, the sanctuary aims to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome horses in need and all money raised at the raffle will go towards its continued hard work. Sanctuary education officer Sally Page attended the event and praised the hospitality of everyone at Countrywide. She said: “We were delighted to have been nominated as the store’s beneficiary for its equine weekend raffle and must extend a big thank you to everyone who helped raise so much money. We received a very warm welcome from staff and visitors alike and look forward to coming back again sometime in the future.” Countrywide equine specialist Lara Brown said: “It’s important to support local charities and we’re so pleased to have given over £200 to The Mare and Foal Sanctuary. “By having the charity’s ponies and staff here at our equine weekend, lots of people had the chance to find out first-hand about the work they do, which was brilliant.” To find out more about The Mare and Foal Sanctuary visit www.mareandfoal.org, call 01626 355969 or find them on Facebook and Twitter @the mareandfoal
