HONITON: Special day for old racers

Tuesday, 06 May 2014

Greyhound Rescue West of England Devon branch’s first educational event of the year attracted the best ever turnout with 82 retired racers plus owners. It was a special day for three ex-racers currently kennelled near Honiton. Billy, Jenny and Daisy joined dogs that have already been re-homed to help them become acclimatised to life away from the kennel environment and they behaved impeccably. Volunteer Suzi Bailey, from Honiton, said: “We had a fantastic day and a great turnout. It is really important that the dogs we are trying to re-home get out to see what life is like away from the kennel. They get to learn what it is like to actually be a dog.” The event was held at Stover Country Park, near Newton Abbot on Sunday April 13th.
