AXMINSTER: Sponsored dog walkers raise £600 for Axminster’s TIC
Tuesday, 06 May 2014
Eighteen people and three dogs took part in a sponsored walk from Axminster to Lyme Regis on Easter Monday in aid of Axminster Tourist Information. The walkers enjoyed splendid weather and rewarded themselves with fish and chips in Lyme Regis before taking the bus back to Axminster. One of the organisers, TIC volunteer Sarah Crook, said: “We walked over Trinity Hill and joined the East Devon Way. “The weather was beautiful, which was a huge bonus as the walk is varied with good views and we were able to enjoy these to the full. “There was lots of chat and laughter along the way, a really enjoyable afternoon. “We are extremely grateful to all our walkers and sponsors who were very generous adding £600 to our TIC funds. “We would like to congratulate Andrew and David Starr and Timber the guide dog for winning our £10 voucher and chocolates kindly donated by Healthy Feet Clinic. “We look forward to seeing more of our friend s and supporters at the open TIC meeting on May 8th 6.30pm at the Senior Citizens’ Centre.
