Seaton WI have a go at Fairisle knitting

The April meeting of Seaton WI was held on Tuesday, April 15th at the Methodist Church Hall, Seaton. President Ann Attridge opened the meeting by welcoming everyone. This was followed by the singing of Jerusalem accompanied by Mary Fone. Ann then introduced the speaker for the evening, Janine Barradale, who brought along some of the wonderful knitted garments she had made, showing her skill in Intarsia and Fairisle knitting. Janine described the difference between the two knitting styles and gave members two simple patterns to take home and “have a go” at. Hilda Morgan gave the vote of thanks. Tea and biscuits were then served followed by the business of the month. Details of the monthly walk, scrabble group and the proposed “round robin” trip in June were given. Flower of the month competition was won by Denise England, with Aimee Guard second and Gwen Jackson third. The competition was won by Aimee Guard with Sheila Rumble second and Margaret Nicholas third. The next meeting is the AGM on Tuesday, May 20th at Methodist Church Hall at 2 pm.
