SEATON: Pirates ahoy!

Tuesday, 22 April 2014

AMBROSE, the Devon Air Ambulance mascot, just about escaped walking the plank when he came face-to-face with a bunch of sword-wielding pirates at Pecorama on Sunday, writes Kevin Fahey. Fortunately these young pirates were some of the nicest Ambrose could ever meet as they enjoyed the sunshine at the Peco Pirate Day which marked the start of the new season at the popular tourist attraction in Beer. “It has been a great day and all the children and their parents seem to be enjoying themselves,” said Karen Chipperfield, who is assistant manager for tourism and marketing. “The Devon Air Ambulance is our charity for the year and they will be here for all of our major events while at our annual open garden day on July 6th we will be donating all the gate money to them.” The Seaton Drama Group were a great hit with their medley of pirate songs and there was also a treasure hunt and fancy dress competition with prizes for the best dressed pirate.
