The Britain in Bloom judges have confirmed they will be visiting Beer on Wednesday, July 2nd. They will spend around two-and-a-half hours touring the village before finishing at the Dolphin Hotel. BiB organiser Ursula Makepeace is hoping to win the top prize this year.
A reminder that Beer Film Society will be showing ‘Philomena’ starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan, at Steamers Restaurant next Monday (April 28th). Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start and tickets will be on sale on the night costing £5. The organisers of the fourth annual Big Breakfast charity fundraiser at Beer Sailing Club on Friday (April 25th) are hoping to once again raise over £1,000 for Cancer Research. Doors will open at 7:30am and a three-course breakfast will cost £6.
Entry is free, though donations will be welcomed, for the Celebration of the Jurassic Coast at the Beer Social Club on Thursday, April 24th (7pm). The evening of entertainment is a joint effort between the Beer Arts Group and Beer Village Heritage.
