HONITON: Beehive opens its doors to the public

Thursday, 10 April 2014

The Beehive opened its doors to the public for the first time this week, as it welcomed visitors to a series of opening events.
Members of the public were given a tour of the complex on Saturday (April 5th) with a Community Fair open throughout the day for local groups and organisations to showcase their work.
Musical performances from Honiton Youth Orchestra, the Honiton Band and the Sweet Honi ‘n’ Soul vocal group marked the occasion, as hundreds of visitors flocked to the Beehive to catch a glimpse of the long-awaited community centre.
Following the fair, the centre’s programming team put on the Big Beehive Bash on Saturday even- ing, featuring a performance by the Area 52 soul and funk band.
Events will continue throughout April with the Christ Crucified Rock Oratorio set to run for three nights from April 12th to 14th.
