HONITON: Festival looks for volunteers and sponsors
Thursday, 03 April 2014
Organisers of the inaugural Honiton Sausage and Cider Festival report a growing music line-up and good ticket sales.
But there is a need for volunteers and sponsors for the event on Saturday, May 3rd.
The festival will be held to raise money for the Honiton-based volunteer NHS courier service Devon Freewheelers and other charities.
Festival spokesperson Sue Cade said: “The intention is for the festival to be a community event, and organisers of the festival are now putting a call out for local volunteers to help with the set up and marshalling of the event.
“Anyone who helps will get free entry to the festival, but most of all they will have the chance to get involved and have some fun.
“In addition, local businesses are invited to step forward to sponsor signage and band fees. Any contribution is welcome.
“This is the first event of its kind in Honiton and the town wants to show visitors that it can put on a great show.
“Ticket sales are going really well and the music line-up continues to grow with Diamondogz, Sweet Black Angels, Fools and Horses, Ollie Bowern and headliners The Wurzels all confirmed.
“Trade stalls and food and drink stands are booking up nicely and with lots going on for all the family this promises to be a great day.”
To get involved as a sponsor or helper, call 0300 800 0105 between the hours of 10am and 2pm.
