The accident happened at about 4.30pm on Monday, March 24th, involving an MG ZR and a Mitsubishi Space.
There were three casualties, and a police spokesperson said: “The 20-year-old male driver of the MG was taken to RD&E.”
The type of injury was not listed in the report.
The spokesperson added: “It appears that two elderly people in the other vehicle complained of neck and chest pain.
“The A35 was closed at Taunton Cross and Shute Cross.
“Highways were called to deal with a large oil spillage on the road as a result of the collision.
“The vehicles were recovered and the road was re-opened by 6.30pm.
“The Mitsubishi is registered to the Isle of Wight and the MG to Axminster.”
A spokesperson for the fire and rescue service added: “Crews found two vehicles involved, with one person trapped.
