SEAON: New coffee shop and wine bar is open for business
Thursday, 27 March 2014
AN exciting new coffee shop and wine bar opened its door to the public last week (March 24th).
Osborne’s will open in the premises which was once home to the menswear shop that re-located to Seaton and has since been transformed into a stylish, chic space that has become the talk of the village.
“It is something totally new to the village and it is very exciting,” said manger Adam Hughes.
“We hope it will be a great place for the tourists who come to Beer and also a great environment for the locals of Beer to come and relax.”
Mr Hughes, who was appointed by owner James Absalom, will be a familiar face to many customers as he spent over five years working at The Anchor pub on the seafront.
He will share the management operation of Osborne’s, which will be open daily from 8am to 11pm, with his partner Laura Dyson-James with staff also coming in a busy times.
“I have been coming to Beer since I was a nine-year-old and loved it so much that I eventually moved out of London to live here,” added Mr Hughes.
“I feel ingrained in the life of the village and it is great to be back working here as I have spent the last year working at Tesco in Seaton.
“Fortunately I got to know James when I was working in The Anchor and when he approached me I knew it was a great opportunity.
“I feel so lucky and still can hardly believe it.”
Mr Hughes said that cakes, pastries, sandwiches and paninis will be on offer during the day along with hot drinks, while in the evening cold meats, cheeses and olives will be available to complement the extensive wine selection.
